Deo Tibba Base trek is one of the most picturesque trek in the Manali region which offers landscapes ranging from alpine forests, meadows, (locally known as thatch) waterfalls, moraines & a high altitude lake with blue water known as mini-Chandratal (4480m). The trek offers great view of snow clad peaks of Deo Tibba (6001m) & Indrasan (6220m) along with the glaciers of Jagatsukh & Deo Tibba. The entire stretch is an enriching experience for both flora & fauna lovers. It is a must do trek for the first timers as well regular trekkers
Around 10:00 am we will move to 12 Hazar. Earlier road was till Jagatsukh, but now a day’s 12 Hazar is the last road head. After a short drive from where the trek starts. The trail ascends gradually through thick pine forests along the narrow Allain Nullah valley. Lookout for plenty of wildlife along the way. The campsite at Chikha is almost at tree line giving you some fabulous views. Overnight stay at Chikka.
The first part of the trail winds through birch forests before opening on to the huge meadow at Seri. The camp at the opposite end of the meadow is about an hour’s walk away. Overnight stay at Seri.
The initial part of the trek is all flat and easy walking till you comes to a stream. After crossing the stream the trails is uphill through boulders till you come to the camp which is on a moraine? Overnight stay at Tainta.
The path is all through moraine with some uphill stretches. The closed valley doesn’t offer views of the valley but Deo Tibba stays with you all along. Chota Chandertal a beautiful small mountain lake in a depression. Return to the camp at Tainta.
Return on the same route . Today we are going to stay at DugDug Pather.
Trace the route back to Jagatsukh from where a vehicle will pick you up and drop you back to Manali.
